Preschool Years

4–6 Years Old

I-TEACH Principles

For children in our preschool programme (ages 4-6), the I-TEACH Principles from the NEL (Nurturing Early Learners) Framework provide a comprehensive guide for their education.

Integrated Learning

We foster a learning environment where children can connect skills and concepts across different subjects and experiences. Through inquiry-based learning, we encourage children to ask questions, explore, and make discoveries, helping them develop holistically.

Teachers as Facilitators

Our educators are more than just instructors—they are facilitators who use strategies like scaffolding and intentional questioning to extend and enrich each child’s learning. Teachers guide every child towards realising their full potential by providing the support needed to reach the next stage in their development.

Engaging Play

Play is essential for children’s healthy development, and our programme incorporates both child-directed and teacher-directed play. Through purposeful play, children explore the world and develop critical thinking, language, and literacy skills.

Authentic Learning

High-quality, meaningful interactions between children and teachers are key to cognitive growth. We create a positive, supportive environment where children can engage in deep learning and grow emotionally and intellectually.

Children as Constructors of Knowledge

Every child brings prior knowledge to the classroom. Through guidance and a stimulating environment, children construct new understandings by thinking, questioning, and making connections to the world around them.

Holistic Development

Our curriculum is designed to support the holistic development of children across five key learning areas: aesthetics and creative expression, physical development, language and literacy, discovery of the world, and numeracy. These areas help children acquire the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for lifelong learning and success.
