On 15 Nov ’25, we held a 2.5-hour workshop conducted by Ms Julia Chan from CaringSG for parents in our New Life community who have children with developmental needs. Parents shared that the session was useful and provided practical strategies and resources to support them in their caregiving journey.
Our preschool currently offers the Development Support Programme (DSP) for children with mild to moderate developmental needs. Through this programme, children receive one-to-one sessions and in-class support tailored to their needs.
At the event, Ms Debbie Pwa, Head of Child Development Services at New Life Preschool, shared the school’s vision:
“Running a Development Support Programme is resource-heavy, but it comes from a place of heart and belief. We truly believe that every child is created uniquely and is a masterpiece. Our goal is to support each one holistically to reach their full potential. Through today’s caregiver session, we want parents to know that they are not alone, and that together, we can build a village of support for one another.”
We are thankful to the MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund for their belief in and partnership with us. Since April 2025, the MILK Fund has supported our efforts by subsidising programme fees and easing the financial burden for low-income families. To date, 32 families have benefited from the DSP, with seven receiving support from the MILK Fund.
One of our New Life Preschool parents, who has two sons aged five and six, also shared his experience after enrolling them in the DSP. He shared that since joining the programme, his sons have made significant progress in areas such as social interaction, communication, and integration into classroom activities.
Mr Mah Bow Tan, former Minister for National Development and Chairman of the MILK Fund Executive Committee, shared that the MILK Fund’s vision is that no child should be left behind, and that they seek to partner with organisations that have the heart and passion to serve families. This is why the MILK Fund has chosen to work closely with New Life Preschool, particularly in supporting low-income families.
Thank you to everyone for making this impact possible for the families we serve.
